One of my medical conditions I have is Aplastic Anaemia which is a blood disorder. This means that I may need a blood transfusion now and again.
You will have seen in the media recently that the National Blood Transfusions Service (NBTS) are appealing for more donors, particularly in the run up to Christmas.
Not only does receiving blood saves lives, but it also helps to improve the quality of lives for people like myself and for many of those who have blood disorders and those who have leukemia and having blood transfusions while awaiting a bone marrow transplant.
Some of you who watched the short film Being Martin will have seen what I get up to and preparing for the Hadrian’s Wall Boma Challenge. This is all thanks for the blood transfusions I had.
It is for this reason I am asking you to consider donating a pint (or 2!) of blood.
I am running a month long challenge to encourage 100+ people to sign up and donate blood. You can dowload a form here Electronic Enrolment Form Martin Symons.pdf
Alternatively you can call 0300 023 23 23 or sign up here https://secure.blood.co.uk/enrol.asp
If you call or sign up online, please let me know by sending me a message via my contact page
